The Family Courts are open

Separation, Family & Relationships

As we all know at the moment nearly every aspect of life is being impacted by COVID 19.

But the Family Courts are still ‘open’ and operating.

However, the Courts are modifying their practices to minimise the need for people to attend at the Court buildings.

The first of these is that the Courts have expanded the already available “electronic filing” facilities.

Lawyers must now electronically file and lodge all documents. Originals can be posted to the Court as needed.

Recognising that not all self-represented people may have access to the necessary technology, the Courts are asking for those people to contact the Court to make alternate arrangements.

Information about the practices of the Court are constantly changing - Mullane Lindsay will keep you updated.
